Murray is a next generation member of a family who has personal experience in the complex issues surrounding wealth transition. He believes in the importance of family as the essential foundation for investment over the long term.

Although his family is based in Perth, he established the Palmer Family Office in 2004 while living in San Diego. His time in the US was well spent, learning from the many families and the field’s foremost professionals who have been studying the best practices for sustaining and enhancing family capital (human, intellectual and financial capital) over many generations. He has recently moved his family to Sydney, where he continues to manage the family office and is sharing his knowledge and experiences to independently serve other families. Coupled with his business and finance experience, Murray brings a valued commercial edge to his work.

Murray has 26 years of professional and commercial experience. His career began with nine years at Price WaterhouseCoopers which took him to the UK and the US. For the next ten years in the US he was involved in the senior management of a small entrepreneurial import and technology company and a large software company (formerly a division of GE), before leaving to establish the family office where his primary investment experience was in real estate. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business from Curtin University. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Private Wealth Network and STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Professionals). Murray is married with two young children.
